When Does Marvel Agents of Shield Come Back
When Will Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD Season 8 Be Released? Has The Show Been Cancelled?
Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD has had seven seasons already, but will it end up getting another season on Disney Plus? If so, when could Agents Of SHIELD Season 8's release date be? So, we wanted to investigate whether the show would be getting an eighth season or not, and if so, when would its release date be. And will it truly be set in the MCU?
So, first off, let's talk about the show's premise. Marvel's Agent Of SHIELD stars Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson. The show also stars Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge. Nick Blood, Adrianne Palicki, Henry Simmons, Luke Mitchell, John Hannah, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward joined in later seasons.
The show follows agents of the organisation SHIELD, which stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. The agents have to deal with various unusual cases and enemies, including Hydra, Inhumans, Life Model Decoys, alien species such as the Kree and Chronicoms, and time travel.
Season 7 was reportedly the show's last

Over the course of seven seasons, the show has had several crossover episodes with MCU films or other television series, notably Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The show's also featured actors from the MCU appearing in guest roles. Samuel L. Jackson, Hayley Atwell, Jaimie Alexander, Patton Oswalt, Cobie Smulders, Neal McDonough to name but a few of the actors who's appeared in both the MCU and Agents Of SHIELD.
However, there has still been confusion over whether the show is officially part of the MCU or not. The issue seems to be that it wasn't really Marvel Studios' show. It aired on ABC and was produced by Marvel Television. Marvel Television was run by Jeph Loeb and he and Kevin Feige didn't really see eye-to-eye on many matters, especially when it came to what to do with the Marvel TV shows.
Well, Marvel Television was made defunct back in 2019, and that's one of the main reasons why we're seeing shows like WandaVision, Loki, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier being made for Disney Plus. These shows are all being developed by Marvel Studios and under the watchful eye of Kevin Feige.
Agents of SHIELD could be getting new episodes

Therefore, shows such as the Marvel Netflix shows, Agent Carter and Agents Of SHIELD were all cancelled and then Marvel started work on these new Disney Plus Marvel Studios series. It's just another step in Kevin Feige's goal to have control over every single aspect of the Marvel movie and television universe.
However, there have been rumours that the final two seasons of Agents Of SHIELD will be released on Disney Plus (there are only five seasons available to watch on Disney Plus at the moment). This rumour comes from Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity.
Sutton is saying that along with Marvel dropping the last two seasons of Agents Of SHIELD on Disney Plus, they're also going to release some new episodes, which might help to finish off the show nicely. Therefore, we could be getting a Season 8 of sorts in the future. However, nothing has been officially announced and there's no release date in the pipeline at the moment. I'll let you know if anything changes.
